Easter baking fun in Miss O’Driscoll’s room. These nests looked really cool and tasted even better! π«

We had a lovely visit from the man himself on the day of our holidays! He chatted to all of us, answered our questions and left some lovely gifts. Most importantly he assured us he would be arriving on the 25th to our homes! We can’t wait to hear all about it when we are back to school. π
We were so lucky to get to stream the panto on our boards today! It was almost as good as being there! We watched the Sword and the Stone, streamed from the Helix and laughed the whole way through! What a treat. To make it even better we got hot chocolate and cookies!
Another red and white day in Derrinacahara, this time supporting the ladies in the All Ireland Final, most especially our local star, Melissa Duggan! Unfortunately it wasn’t to be for the ladies this year, but we’re already looking forward to next year!
Well done to the students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th class who completed and presented their group projects based on different modes of transport. They were wonderful, great teamwork and wonderfully presented. π
We had a visit from one of our own very own superstars this week! Due to unforeseen circumstances we couldn’t celebrate Mrs. Crowley’s retirement the way we would have liked! However we were so glad to have her visit this week, everyone’s face lit up the moment they saw her! She was so kind to call for a chat and brought us all along a little gift too! We presented Mrs. Crowley with some gifts out in the yard and sang her some Christmas songs! We thank Gabrielle for everything she has done for us. For the great teacher, principal, mentor and friend she is. Derrinacahara isn’t the same without her but we’re sure she is enjoying her free time in theΒ ‘Centre of the Universe’! MΓle BuΓochas!
We are all really enjoying lots of different Christmas activities in Derrinacahara at the moment!
Wow! What a day! Well done to everyone who decked out in their finest festive attire! The Christmas jumpers do indeed create a lovely atmosphere around the school! More importantly, as a school, we raised β¬570 in aid of Children’s Health Foundation Crumlin! Thank you all, a great testament to the generosity of our school community.
What a treat! A big thank you to Anthony and rang a dΓ³ who treated us to some yummy pizza.
An emotional day in Derrinacahara today on the day of Anne’s retirement. Anne has been working in Derrinacahara for 18 years and we cannot thank her enough for the kindness she has shown to each one of us. We wish Anne the very best of luck in her retirement and hope she enjoys her well deserved rest and time with her friends and family.
